the chariot race

@Sidonie: This image was taken at a small fall fair in north western Ontario, Canada. The community is called Murrilo which is just outside of Thunder Bay, ONT Canada.

I grew up in Murrilo and race horses at this fair when I was much younger, but this was the first time I've been back to the fair in 20 years.

I now have two daughters and the oldest is at the age I was the summer I first rode a horse and was convinced to race a friend of my father' s thourghbred. This horse was bought off the race track in Winepeg Manatoba and was brought back to Thinder Bay to be in the chariot races.

I shake my head now at how crazy the idea of a 12 year old boy racing horses within a few months of his first time to sit on one. Great memories!
